I'm at a restaurant just down the beach from where I'm staying, enjoying a icy cold cerveza and a fish taco when I see this tiny little brown man working his way through what looks like a bale of hay. On closer inspection I see he's making a hammock. What I thought was hay is actually dried palm frond called palapa, the same palm used in the making of palapa roofs. It was amazing to watch! This is what he starts with.
